	To me BDSM is associated with the use of all kind of attributes, my toys. There are toys to restrain, to limit the use of sensors, to humiliate, to inflict pain, to punish. Toys can be made from leather, from latex, from wood, from iron, or a combination of materials. Many BDSM lovers also have a fetish for leather. Almost all toys shown are in my possession. Although i know that they all are different, i will use the terms bottom, sub and slave indifferently.
	The universal symbol that expresses submission and ownership in BDSM is the collar. Also in IRC one knows collared slaves. The width of the collar can vary, and they can be combined with gags. Needles to say that a slave is proud when (s)he is allowed to carry the name of his/her Mistress/Master. You can see a picture of such a collar here also.
	A hood or mask serves two purposes. It covers the face of the bottom or sub, and therewith make her/him more anonymous. And a tight mask combined with a blindfold, a gag and some earplugs robbes the sub/bottom effectively from a few important sensors and means of communication. 	Cuffs are indispensable attributes in almost any BDSM play. It is the quickest and most simple way to tie up a sub. There are all kind of cuffs, leather or metal, for the wrists or ankles. There are special restraints for hanging a slave, either upright or upside down. Needles to say that in this position great care is of the utmost importance. The thumbnail shows more examples.
	Bondage is an important part of BDSM, and herewith are all attributes that are used for bondage. But each person has its favorite bondage gear. For some this can be rope, for others metal chains and shackles should be used. And for persons with a leather fetisch like me a fully equiped leather straitjacket is the ultimo bondage tool. 	Whips are the punishment attributes par excellence. They are available in a large variety. There is a whip for every job and for the most excuise taste, either for the Domme or the sub. Whips can have a few to a large number of tails. But there are also whips with just one braided tail. The bullwhip is an example, although due to its danger this whip is almost never used in BDSM plays. Also the effect a whip has on the sub can vary from a soft stroke to very painfull blows that eventually can lead to bruises or injuries. The whips under the thumbnail are almost all homemade.
	Nipples seems to be a gift of God. So small and handy, and yet so lovely sensitive to all kind of stimulations. They can be caressed. You can suck on them. Or gently touch them with Your teeth, but don't bite unless your into BDSM. Yes those lovely nipples can also be used to hurt. By pulling, by twisting, by pinching them. 	When the slave is male (as i am) cock and ball restrains are yet another group of toys. Some toys focus on the cock while other only take the scrotum as subject. And of course still others do both. 	The anus, wether male or female, is an appreciated subject for different scene types. For a sub, anal stimulation can be a pleasant and enjoyable sensation. But in a different setting anal play can also be humiliating, or f.e. in the case of stretching even painfull. Sometimes anal training is part of a bdsm lifestyle. 	If you are lucky enough to belong to a Domme, to be allowed to name you Her property, then you probably proudly want to carry Her token as sign that you belongs to your Domme. Such a token can be all kind of things. Often a collar is used that comes in numerous variations. Sometimes you also see (how applicable!) a slave bracelet or ankle tie. Others want a somewhat more permanent token and do use for that for instance a tattoo. But entirely of this time (anno 2008) is slave branding. 	Forced chastity using any kind of belt is another restrainplay. The sub transfers the decision about how and when to come over to the Domme, either for the duration of the play or for a much longer time. There are several types of chastity belts in use. Some makes intercourse impossible but still allow masturbation. Others do a good job in making the penis inaccessible, thereby also rule out masturbation.
